  • A native of Lowville, Dr. John F. Parker is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists. He has many areas of interest, including joint replacement, fracture care, arthroscopy, and the management of complex orthopedic trauma. He is very experienced in the treatment of geriatric fractures, including the procedure of kyphoplasty for the treatment of spinal compression fractures. He also maintains a strong commitment to the orthopedic care and training regimens of recreational athletes of all levels and ages.

    Dr. Parker received a Bachelor's degree in English from Amherst College, where he was also a ski racer. He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester, and completed his orthopedic training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Hanover, NH.

    In addition to his professional interests, Dr. Parker enjoys skiing with his family, and is an avid runner, cyclist and tri-athlete. He is a multiple-time Ironman triathlon finisher. Though he treats all of his patients with the utmost care, he frequently makes special accommodations for his North Country people. He is slowly adjusting to the tropical climate of Syracuse.
