What is Pulmonary Rehabilitation?
0

Among preventive services that St Joseph’s Hospital offers at our Janus Park location in Liverpool, Pulmonary Rehabilitation is one that many people are not familiar with. If you have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis or any other lung condition, you may qualify for Pulmonary Rehabilitation services.

Most insurances will cover much of the fee (our Customer Service Representative will assist with getting this information), and our staff will design a program to fit your needs.

What can you expect from participating in Pulmonary Rehabilitation? You can expect to begin exercise under the supervision of our skilled staff. Each participant‘s exercise program is individualized, starting slowing and gradually increasing at your own pace. You will attend classes that teach you breathing techniques that help reduce shortness of breath. You will learn skills to use when traveling, and when to call your doctor for help. You will learn about medications that can help you and how they work.

Most importantly, our goal is for you to leave our program feeling stronger, more confident, breathing better, and living a healthier life. You can talk with your doctor about a referral to Pulmonary Rehabilitation, or call us at 458-7171 and we can help get the process started. Our site is easy to access and parking is free.

If you or a loved one has trouble breathing, why not check us out?
