The 1869 Society was founded to recognize individuals who demonstrate their deep commitment to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center and its mission of service through a planned gift. The generous contributions from these members serve as the cornerstone of our future by establishing a strong foundation from which many generations shall benefit.
About Planned Giving
Thank you for your interest in planned giving to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Through planned giving, you can leave a lasting legacy to St. Joseph's and enhance your—and your family's—financial security.
Planned giving can have many benefits, both for you and for the hospital, such as allowing you to make a significant and meaningful donation to St. Joseph's while eliminating capital gains taxes or reducing the tax burden on your heirs. Often times, planned giving allows you to make a larger gift than you might previously have thought possible.
A planned gift, as the name implies, requires some advance preparation, typically in conjunction with a lawyer, a financial advisor or both. To determine the best type of planned gift for your situation, you must consider your personal, philanthropic, financial and tax objectives.

- Bequests - designate a specific dollar amount or percentage of your estate to leave to St. Joseph's.
- Charitable Trusts - you and/or a beneficiary can continue to receive a percentage of your assets annually, with the remainder going to St. Joseph's.
- Charitable Gift Annuities - earn a fixed amount annually and leave the remainder to St. Joseph's.
- Retirement Plan Assets - name St. Joseph's as your beneficiary and reduce the tax burden on your heirs.

An annual springtime fund-raising event, this black-tie-optional Gala offers an evening of dining and dancing to benefit special projects of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center.
2013 Gala: Cherry Blossom Gala (Giving Strength to Hope)
Friday, May 31 - Turning Stone Resort and Casino
Since its inception in 1992, St. Joseph’s Hospital's Gala Dinner Dance has raised more than $3.8 million to benefit hospital programs, including cardiac services, medical imaging, the college of nursing, operating rooms, dialysis services and the neonatal intensive care unit. Proceeds from the gala play an important part in St. Joseph’s ability to provide a higher level of care to our Central New York community.
Cherry Blossom Gala, St. Joseph’s Foundation’s 22nd annual Gala Dinner Dance — will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013, at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino.
Cherry blossoms in their beautiful pink blush, happiness and hope will be in abundance at St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation's 22nd annual Gala. Last year nearly 800 of you put on your favorite ball gown, or tux and tie, for the Gala. Sponsored by Central New York Infusion Services, LLC, the evening will feature dining and dancing to the live music of Atlas. Cocktails begin at 6:45 p.m. in the event center atrium, with dinner and dancing following at 8 p.m. in the main ballroom. Black tie is optional. Overnight accommodations are available every year at a discounted rate by calling 1-800-771-7711.
