St. Joseph’s Primary Care Center – West formerly known as Westside Family Health Center provides health care for people of all ages in one convenient location. It has been a part of St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center since January 1994. The center provides primary health care for children and adults and offers 24-hour physician coverage, seven days a week.
About our health care team
Our staff consists of physicians, nurses and support staff. We have an on-site nutritionist and social worker, as needed. In order to meet the needs of our large Hispanic population, we provide Spanish/English translation at the center. We also have a translator service to accommodate those who speak other languages.

VISITS ARE BY APPOINTMENT. Please call 315-703-2600 in advance to make an appointment. Patient appointments are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. To better care for your patients, we ask that you either keep your appointment or call in advance to reschedule. Appointments for patients with an acute illness who need to be seen that day or the following day can usually be arranged.
If you need a prescription refill
Please request routine prescriptions or refills when you have a visit with your doctor. If you do not have a scheduled visit, please call the office three to five days in advance of when your prescription will run out.
If you need hospitalization
If you or a member of your family (except children) must be hospitalized, you most likely will be admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Children will be admitted to Crouse or University hospitals.

If you have a life-threatening emergency, go to the nearest emergency department and identify yourself as a patient of the Westside Family Health Center. If your medical problem is not life threatening but requires care relatively soon, call the office at 315-703-2600. When the office is closed, your call will be forwarded to the on-call answering service. A physician is on call 24 hours a day.
Payment for services
We accept Medicare, Medicaid, PCAP and most insurances. Your participating insurance will be billed for services rendered. Co-payment is due at the time of service. If you have no insurance or need assistance with payment, a financial representative will assist you.
New York State Department of Health HIV Primary Care Medicaid Program
