Over the past three years our women and children's service line team has engaged in teamwork creating a culture of patient safety around obstetrical care. They have studied, drilled, asked each other the hard questions and completed the MOREOB patient safety program.
Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently started in Canada and St. Joseph's was the first site in the United States to
complete this program. Last week the team was honored with the MOREOB Patient Safety Award for outstanding leadership efforts and teamwork. Dr. James Brown led the effort and is shown holding the award with the multidisciplinary team that says the program has changed the culture of how they approach care and their commitment to continuous learning. Go to www.moreex.com, which offers more information on the expansion of the successful MOREOB program to other areas of health care.
We are on a journey at St. Joseph's to provide the best possible care and patient-centered experience. The tools that are helping us get there include MOREOB, LifeWings and NSQIP: National Surgical Quality Improvement Program. The tools are helpful, but the real work -- the most important work -- is our individual commitment to being passionate about quality and great patient care in an atmosphere and culture of teamwork.
Congratulations to our MOREOB team!
