Philanthropy and its Role in Supporting our Mission
0

Friday night was our annual Gala at the Turning Stone. It was a sold out event, with donors, physicians, employees, volunteers, business partners and community leaders coming together to support the mission of our organization.

Doug Smith and Pam Kennedy did an amazing job of once again filling the room, and beautifully organizing all the details!

More than $330,000 was raised to support future work. What exactly does the Foundation do for St. Joseph's ?

It has a unique role as our partner in raising resources to help build new facilities, buy special equipment, seed new projects, offer mini grants to improve patient care, help offer loan repayment to primary care physicians and scholarships to nursing students. The Foundation makes possible the things that are sometimes impossible to do from an operating budget. It communicates with donors and reminds them of our history and unique role in caring for those often without coverage or access.

The Foundation holds events, runs annual giving programs, helps donors understand how to give each year or as part of an estate, and often provides creativity for in-kind donations from artwork to property that can then be converted to financial gifts.

We have donors who make $5 gifts to donors who make $5 million dollar gifts.  Each one is important to our work, and we are thankful for all the gifts we receive each year.  The annual Gala allows us to say thank you and to celebrate our Foundation.

There are so many demands on each of us for our resources, but supporting the mission of St. Joseph's is one of the best ways to make a contribution to our community.
