To counter the shortage of physicians, the Doctors Across NY Program offers loan forgiveness and grants to those practicing in rural and urban low-income areas.
Physician Loan Repayment program covers up to $150,000 in medical school loans for new physicians who make a five-year commitment to practice in medically underserved communities.
Physician Practice Support grants provide up to $100,000 over two years to encourage primary care and specialty physicians to establish or join practices in medically underserved communities.
St. Joseph’s Family Medicine Residency seeks to blend the primary care orientation of a community hospital with the academic and educational resources of a major medical school. Our goal is to produce strong clinicians who are capable of delivering high-quality primary care in any setting, from rural to suburban to inner city practice locations.
