Current Physician Assistant (PA)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) Opportunities Available

Medicine Coordinator
This position requires direct clinical responsibilities in teaching and mentoring as well as administrative leadership.  The Medicine Coordinator supervises all clinical affiliates (NPs/PAs) working on the medicine subspecialties, hospitalist, preadmission testing, palliative care, and employee health office departments.  A minimum of five years work experience as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is required; inpatient medicine experience preferred.  Previous leadership/management experience preferred. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain clinical coverage of all Medicine areas through scheduling adequate staff with the necessary medical training, monitor and manage payroll
  • Act as an intermediary with the attending physicians and clinical staff to resolve conflicts/address concerns
  • Attend regularly schedule meetings with the director and VPMA to facilitate communication of hospital needs, policies, etc
  • Maintain clinical proficiency within own area of expertise
  • Provide education to staff as opportunities for learning are realized
  • Develop and maintain guidelines for patient care within each area that are consistent with hospital policy, evidence based and in accordance with most recent recommendations
  • Establish and monitor quality indicators
  • Perform annual evaluations with all staff

Non-operative Cardiac Surgery, Nights

  • 12 hour shifts, totaling 80 hours per pay period
  • Peri-operative care in the ICU as well as the step-down unit
  • Cohesive and Collegial Work Relationships
  • Utilize electronic medical records for documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, or Physician Assistant program
  • Previous Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience desirable
  • Must possess NYS licensure and certification as a NP or PA

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - CPEP

  • Provide evaluation and treatment for individuals of all ages who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis
  • Admit patients and write orders as needed
  • Assist with increasing the efficiency of initial evaluation period
  • Use of electronic medical records, including dictation
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner License
  • CPR and ACLS certification
  • Salary range: Commensurate with experience

Primary Care, Nurse Practitioner

  • Mix of patient follow ups and urgent care cases
  • High level of autonomy
  • Projected caseload 300-400 patients
  • Use of electronic medical records
  • Prior experience required, preferably in an outpatient setting
  • Family Nurse Practitioner License or Physician Assistant License
  • CPR and ACLS certification
  • Schedule will include evening and weekend hours

General Surgery

  • First and second assisting in the OR
  • Peri-operative care in the ICU as well as the step-down unit
  • Cohesive and Collegial Work Relationships
  • Utilize electronic medical records for documentation
  • Physician Assistant License or Nurse Practitioner License with RNFA
