Maternal/Child Health Center - Pediatric Office

When you are a patient of the Maternal Child Health Center Pediatric Office, you will be cared for by a staff which specializes in pediatric health care. The team includes board-certified physicians and nurses. Other services available include social services, health care education, nutritional counseling and financial counseling.

Your Child's Care

We provide well child examination and sick child treatments to newborns through age 18 or your child's college physical. The office also provides school physicals, sports physicals, immunizations and college physicals. Interpreters are available to help us assist families who speak a foreign language.

Please bring your child's vaccine record to all doctor visits. To serve your child better we request that a parent or adult who knows your child well accompany your child to each appointment. If someone other than a parent brings your child to an appointment, we need written permission from the child's parent to provide care for the child. If you require clarification, please contact our office prior to your child's scheduled appointment.

Office Hours and Appointments

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for routine and acute appointments. If you cannot keep an appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours in advance. If you will be late for an appointment, please call to let us know. We do reserve the right to reschedule your child's appointment for extreme lateness or during office emergencies.

Telephone Number

The office phone number is 703-5270. You may call this number during office hours to schedule an appointment. If you have questions or concerns, a nurse or physician will return your call to discuss them with you.

Prescription Refills

Please call during office hours at least three days in advance of when you will need medicine refilled. Please have available your pharmacy name and phone number.

When your child is Hospitalized

In the unlikely event that your child needs to be hospitalized, an admission to a pediatric ward will be arranged. We prefer that you use the University Hospital Pediatric Emergency Room, if your child is seriously ill or injured. Doctors from our office will continue to be involved in your child's care during hospital admissions.

After Hours Care

If you need to speak to a physician about an acute problem when  the office is closed, please call 703-5270. Our answering service will take your message and contact our on-call physician who will call you back. Please call the answering service before going to the emergency room. If you feel you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to University Hospital Pediatric Emergency Room and identify your child as a patient at St. Joseph's Maternal Child Healthy Center Pediatric Office.

How to Pay for Our Services

The fees charged by our office are based on the services rendered. A business office representative is available to assist you as needed. Medicaid applications can be processed through our office.
