Dr Semel is a focused and skilled surgeon.. I have recently had a repair on a leaking Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm stent. Dr Semel did a fine job in stopping the leak in a particularly difficult and precarious area near the kidney arteries.

I would have appreciated if Dr. Semel would have reviewed the test taken on-October 18, 2023 (an ultrasound that indicated Right Lower Extremity Deep Vein Thrombosis. I knew the visit was complete as he walked towards the door.

I told him I had pain in both legs. He said he doesn't see any reason by I would have pain in my left leg, as if he didn't believe me. He was dismissive.

As mentioned earlier, he seemed remarkably uninformed about my vascular imaging history and gave opinions based on what I told him rather than my actual medical history. Also, he didn’t greet me when he came in the room. He didn’t seem to take the appointment seriously.

I believe Dr. Semel could improve on how he communicates with his patients. From my initial meeting to the day of my surgery to the day of my follow up. The interaction between Dr and patient was minimal.
Dr was quiet and soft spoken when explaining things to me. He let me express myself and my concerns. He did not just brush me off and is doing follow up work.
