Syracuse, N.Y. – July 29, 2013 – St. Joseph’s Medical P.C. announces a change in hours for its Urgent Care centers in Liverpool and Fayetteville effective August 1.
· The Urgent Care in Fayetteville, at 4103 Medical Center Drive, will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
· The Urgent Care in Liverpool, at 5100 West Taft Road, Suite 1C, will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
· Both Urgent Care centers are open 365 days a year, including holidays.
Urgent Care provides care for medical conditions that require immediate attention but do not warrant a visit to the emergency room. Services include treatment of most illnesses and injuries, including the evaluation and treatment of asthma, colds, lacerations, and fracture care.
Staffed by highly skilled physicians and support team members, and offering onsite laboratory and radiology services, the centers are dedicated to providing access to care where and when it is needed in the communities, according to Dr. Michael Schiano, Urgent Care medical director. He said the hours align with the need for services while ensuring ability to deliver quality, accessible healthcare to the community.
The two Urgent Care centers were Central New York’s first such facilities, when the Liverpool site opened in 1989, followed nine years later by the Fayetteville site in 1998. According to Dr. Schiano, the facilities are recognized as a progressive model for patient health care. Physician teams handle more than 65,000 patient visits annually, and the centers have a 97 percent patient satisfaction rating, Dr. Schiano noted.
