St. Joseph’s Welcomes New Bariatric Surgeons

SYRACUSE – St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center is pleased to welcome two new bariatric surgeons to its weight loss surgery team. Gregory Dalencourt, MD, and January Hill, MD, joined William A. Graber MD, PC, last month. The weight loss surgery practice performs surgeries at St. Joseph’s.

Dr. Dalencourt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio, and Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in the Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies. He completed an internship and residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Penn., an internship at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Penn., and a fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Prior to joining Dr. Graber’s office, Dr. Dalencourt was a surgeon for the Peconic Bay Medical Center Multi Specialty Organization and Twin Forks Surgical Associates, PC, both in Riverhead, N.Y. Dr. Dalencourt is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Medical Society of New York and American Medical Association. 

Dr. Hill earned her bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, and her doctor of medicine from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. She completed an internship and residency in surgery at SUNY Buffalo in Buffalo, N.Y., and a fellowship in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va. Dr. Hill is board certified in surgery and is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

Drs. Dalencourt and Hill join Dr. William A. Graber and Dr. Dmitri Baranov. St. Joseph’s is designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
