Spiritual Care

What is Spiritual Care?

Spiritual care is an aspect of health care that supports the inner person (spirit/soul) to help deal with the health challenges that you or your loved one is facing. This may include concerns or questions about personal meaning, purpose, legacy, hope and faith. We are committed to providing compassionate care that respects the beliefs and needs of each person.

The Spiritual Care team offers the support of highly trained chaplains for patients, their families, and caregivers during the unique challenges, uncertainties, and crises of hospitalizations. In whatever way you define your spirituality, our multi-faith staff is always ready to meet your emotional and faith-related needs, regardless of your religious denomination or faith tradition with sensitive, respectful, and inclusive responses as you seek healing.

We minister as a team of Chaplains, Eucharistic Ministers and volunteers, caring for others in a spirit of prayer and discernment. Our ministry is enhanced by fostering professional relationships with all members of the patient care team, thereby assuring a well-rounded, holistic approach to the patient’s care. We give priority to referrals for spiritual care generated from patients, families, staff and volunteers.
