St. Joseph's Health Welcomes Leading Electrophysiologist Andrew Rudin, MD

Syracuse, NY (January 29, 2018) – St. Joseph's Health welcomes Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist Andrew Rudin, MD, to St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute’s Oswego office. Dr. Rudin is on staff with both Oswego Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital where he will continue his work in medical cardiology and electrophysiology. Rudin is known for developing a novel approach to the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Cooperative atrial fibrillation ablation is a catheter-based, outpatient procedure with high success rates of limiting or eliminating the frequency of the abnormal rhythm.
Rudin earned his Doctor of Medicine from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY where he studied cardiology and earned the Harold Elster Memorial Award for ranking first in his graduating class. He completed his residency at Yale New Haven Hospital where he was chief resident. Following residency, Rudin completed fellowships in cardiology and electrophysiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Rudin earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Rudin is a Board Certified Cardiologist, and Electrophysiologist and is one of the leading interventional electrophysiologists in the country. He is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Tennessee.
Most recently, Rudin worked as a private practice cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist in Illinois where he was affiliated with Unity Point Trinity Hospital in Rock Island, IL. He has been in private practice since 2006 and held multiple hospital staff appointments in Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Tennessee.
