St. Joseph's Health Welcomes Physician Mary-Ellen Edmiston

Syracuse, NY (October 3, 2018) – St. Joseph's Health welcomes Mary-Ellen Edmiston, DO, to its Palliative Care team where she will provide treatment to patients with advanced or complex illnesses.
Edmiston earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and her Master of Science in Medical Sciences and Molecular Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of South Florida. Before joining St. Joseph’s Health, Edmiston completed her hospice and palliative medicine fellowship with the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and her residency at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was recognized by faculty as the Outstanding Resident in Women’s Health for the 2015-16 year.
Edmiston was also recognized as a poster presentation winner for “Two Unique Case Reports on Pain Control at the End of Life,” a presentation given at the 2017 Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association (POMA) Clinical Assembly.
Edmiston is board certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She is also a member of the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations.
