St. Joseph's Health Welcomes Physician Robert Kellman

Syracuse, NY (February 12, 2019) – St. Joseph's Health welcomes Otolaryngologist Robert M. Kellman, MD, to its St. Joseph’s Physicians ENT (ear, nose and throat) team at Northeast Medical Center in Fayetteville. As an ENT physician and surgeon, Dr. Kellman is focused on the treatment of disorders of the head and neck with emphasis on innovative surgery for sleep apnea as well as nasal and sinus disorders, including cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty and also facial skin cancers.
Prior to joining St. Joseph’s Health, Kellman worked for nearly 24 years as Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences at SUNY Upstate Medical University as well as the Director of Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery, leaving as Professor and Chair Emeritus.
Kellman earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and completed his surgical residency at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in Bronx, New York. He also completed a residency in Otolaryngology at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Throughout his career, Kellman has been actively involved in clinical research and teaching, and he was involved in the training of many of the otolaryngologists in the region. He has authored numerous articles and books, and he has lectured around the country and around the world, sharing his expertise with surgeons on at least four continents. He has served in several national and international leadership positions, most notably as President of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and President of the New York State Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is currently Secretary-Treasurer of the Triological Society. He has also received many awards, including being repeatedly named a Best Doctor, a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, and one of Consumers' Research Council of America’s Top Physicians.
Dr. Kellman is Board certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) and the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS). He is also a fellow in the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, American College of Surgeons, American Neurotology Society, American Society for Head and Neck Surgery, and the Triological Society, among others.
