Dr. Semel showed great vigilance while I was in the ICU. He was at my bedside every morning at 6am to check on my progress. that is extraordinary.

Although I have been told I should be frustrated by the pace of the process, Dr. Semel's thinking and recommendations seem correct to me so far. I actually have no complaints because my case is difficulty -- discrepancies in test results, etc. It's very important to me to be correctly diagnosed since this will have implications for other providers who will help manage my condition and what I say I have to ER doctors during the next health crisis. He seems willing to want to get things correct, too. I hope by the end the condition is solved correctly and without premature closure even if it turns out that I'm not a surgical candidate.

I don't really have any idea of the severity of my condition or the treatment path going forward. I think that Dr. Semel is a brilliant surgeon with an excellent staff, but I haven't been told by anyone of an impending surgery although all indications point to it. Perhaps I should have demanded more information, so that is on me.
