An evening 25 years in the making for St. Joseph’s Hospital

Verona, NY (June 8, 2016)- St. Joseph’s Health Foundation hosted its 25th annual black tie optional gala dinner dance on Friday, June 3. Through the generosity of its supporters, this year’s gala netted over $303,000 which will help support St. Joseph’s Health’s program of excellence for Breast Care and Surgery.

The Silver Anniversary Gala Dinner Dance, held at the Turning Stone Resort, featured a classic silver and black theme. The 750+ attendees enjoyed dining and dancing to the live music of Atlas. The presenting sponsor was CNY Infusion Services, LLC; gala co-chairs were Dr. James Brown, Jr. and Mrs. Gretchen Brown & Dr. Kara Kort and Mr. Richard Glowaki.

“On behalf of the St. Joseph’s Health Foundation, we are honored to have the opportunity to raise the funds needed to support our Breast Care and Surgery program, and most importantly the patients it serves,” says Vince Kuss, Vice President for Development. “We would like to acknowledge each and every one of our donors. Their generous support allows St. Joseph’s Health to invest in the future to provide quality health care to every patient, every moment, every day.”

St. Joseph’s Breast Care and Surgery offers a comprehensive center of excellence for breast health, consisting of an interdisciplinary team of experts who provide diagnostic care, treatment and follow up based on national standards of care

“We understand the anxiety and fear that can walk through those doors. Our vision is to ensure that we make our patient and family’s journey as smooth and positive as possible,” says Dr. Kara Kort, Medical Director for Breast Care and Surgery. “In further developing St. Joseph's Breast Care and Surgery, it is our hope to be the center in Central New York where all women can come for compassionate, coordinated and comprehensive breast care.”

The goal for St. Joseph’s Breast Care and Surgery is to ensure that all women with breast disease receive the highest level of care. The coordinated approach provides for the best possible results for prognosis, physical and cosmetic outcomes, and emotional stability.

Dr. Kort also adds, “Our vision is that we have a single, dedicated center where women can have their breast imaging and clinical care as necessary. We are hopeful that the proceeds from the Gala, so generously chosen for our program, will make this vision come true.”
