Jamie Arnold Joins St. Joseph’s Health as Communications and Marketing Officer

Arnold brings more than 20 years of corporate communications and public relations experience to non-profit regional health care system
Syracuse, N.Y., March 23, 2016 – Kathryn Ruscitto, president and chief executive officer of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, recently announced that Jamie Arnold has been named communications and marketing officer for the non-profit regional health care system. In this capacity, Arnold will oversee all marketing, public relations, internal and external communications and media relations programs, and will provide strategic oversight on network integrity and patient alignment efforts. An integral part of the St. Joseph’s Health leadership team, Arnold will serve as the subject matter expert on all key communications and branding initiatives. He will advise and consult with the CEO, executive leadership and physicians to help St. Joseph’s and its parent company, Trinity Health, achieve key business objectives.

Most recently, Arnold served as corporate communications manager at Welch Allyn in Skaneateles Falls, where he was responsible for managing the company’s global reputation within the regional and business-to-business media environment, distributor and direct-to-market sales organizations as well as the medical device manufacturer’s international employee base.
Prior to joining Welch Allyn, Arnold worked as an account supervisor in the Public Relations and Public Affairs Group at Eric Mower and Associates, a leading advertising agency with a public relations practice that consistently ranks in the top five percent of all PR firms in the U.S. by PR Week magazine. In this capacity, Arnold managed the development and execution of professional news bureaus and integrated communications campaigns for several of the agency’s top business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients. He also assisted with the development and execution of several high-profile crisis communications and media relations assignments.

Arnold earned his bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Communications Management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He is a past-president of the Central New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-CNY) and a former member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Central New York. An accredited member of PRSA, Arnold was a recipient of the Central New York Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award and PRSA-CNY’s Rising Star Award. He resides in Baldwinsville, New York with his wife and daughter.
