Neurohospitalist Kevin Thomas, M.D. Joins St. Joseph’s Health

SYRACUSE – St. Joseph’s Health welcomes Kevin Thomas, M.D. to St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, NY. As a Neurohospitalist, Dr. Thomas will care for hospitalized patients, with or at risk for neurological disorders and disease.

Dr. Thomas earned his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1982 where he also completed a residency in neurology in 1986. He has been in private practice as a neurologist and affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital Heath Center since 1986.

“As a Neurohospitalist, Dr. Thomas brings his expertise in neurology to the front lines of the hospital,” says Dr. Sandra Sulik, chief medical officer and vice president of medical affairs for St. Joseph’s Health. “The addition of a neurohospitalist to our hospitalist team is a great asset to our patients with acute neurological illnesses, and is one more way in which we provide a higher level of care to our patients.”

Dr. Thomas has provided clinical rotations in family practice and transitional residents at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center as well as out-patient neurology rotation for internal medicine residents from Upstate University Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Onondaga County Medical Association and board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.
