SYRACUSE – St. Joseph’s Health welcomes Sunday Asaju, M.D., specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, to their team of nationally recognized women’s health providers at St. Joseph’s Primary Care centers. Dr. Asaju will see patients at St. Joseph’s Primary Care Center-West and at the Primary Care Center on the main campus of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York. In his role, Dr. Asaju joins a diverse team of highly qualified physicians providing comprehensive women’s care to the community. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s, Dr. Asaju was in practice with the Slocum-Dickson Medical Group, PLLC, in New Hartford, New York.

Dr. Asaju earned his Doctor of Medicine from University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the New York Medical College, Metropolitan Hospital in New York, New York. He additionally completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona in Tuscon, Arizona and training in medical acupuncture at Helm’s Medical Institute in Berekely, California. Dr. Asaju holds a Master of Medical Management (MMM) from Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management in Syracuse, New York.

In addition to his career as a physician, Dr. Asaju is active in the academic aspects of medicine through his current role as a Clinical Assistant Professor of OBGYN at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse in Syracuse, New York, an appointment he has held since 1997. He has also been a member of the medical faculty at Northeast Osteopathic Medical education Network in Biddeford, Maine and New York Medical College at Metropolitan Hospital in New York, New York.

Dr. Asaju is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His professional affiliations include: American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists – American Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization – American College of Physician Executives, American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Dysplasia and the Martin L. Stone Gynecologic Society of New York Medical College.
