Franciscan Companies, part of St. Joseph's Health, is once again supporting Operation Walk Syracuse on its latest mission to provide free surgical treatments for patients in developing countries. Franciscan donated hundreds of pieces of medical equipment and supplies including walkers, canes, raised toilet seats and “hip kits” to the group’s mission to Ghana in mid-April. The donation totaled approximately $1,700. Operation Walk will be screening more than 60 patients during the visit and will perform hip or knee replacements on approximately 50 patients.
