Sonja Kocan, Family Nurse Practitioner, Joins St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute in Watertown and Gouverneur
September 14, 2020SYRACUSE, N.Y.— (September 14, 2020) St. Joseph’s Health welcomes Sonja Kocan, FNP-C, to St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute in Watertown, New York, and Gouverneur, New York. In this new role, Ms. Kocan joins a diverse team of highly qualified practitioners providing comprehensive cardiology care to the community.
Ms. Kocan is a licensed family nurse practitioner with more than 4 years of experience. Prior to joining St. Joseph’s Health, Ms. Kocan worked as a nurse practitioner at Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, New York. Ms. Kocan previously worked as a registered nurse at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital Emergency Department in Syracuse, NY, and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, New York.
Ms. Kocan earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia College in Syracuse, New York, and a master’s degree in nursing from SUNY Upstate Medical University’s College of Nursing in Syracuse, New York.
Ms. Kocan is certified in basic life support (BLS) and emergency neurological life support (ENLS).
Ms. Kocan started June 1, 2020.
