SYRACUSE, N.Y.— (June 21, 2024) St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to announce Nathaniel Kaufman, MD, is continuing his career at St. Joseph’s Health by joining Primary Care Center – Main to practice the full scope of family medicine—pediatrics, adult medicine, and women’s health, including obstetrics. Dr. Kaufman recently completed his residency at St. Joseph’s Health/SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse Family Medicine. In addition to working at PCC – Main, he will also work as a Hospitalist for teaching services and provide obstetrics care on labor and delivery.

Dr. Kaufman graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Sports Studies and Exercise Science. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

 

“I’m passionate about caring for our communities and the diverse populations that live in CNY,” said Dr. Kaufman. “I see the potential for tremendous growth and healing. I practice full scope family medicine, and deliver care for the whole person, physically, mentally, and spiritually. As part of the Family Medicine Residency faculty, I’m excited to help support the next generation of family medicine doctors as they grow into the role.”

 

While at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Dr. Kaufman was President of the student-lead Christian Medical Fellowship, associated with the Christian Medical and Dental Association. He has been on two medical mission trips to San Pedro Sula in Honduras and San Jose in Costa Rica.

 

At home, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and local church community. Recreationally he enjoys hiking the Adirondacks, CrossFit (including coaching classes), and cooking for family and friends.
