St. Joseph’s Health Welcomes Dr. Vincent Skovira, Interventional Cardiologist

SYRACUSE, N.Y.— St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to welcome interventional cardiologist, Vincent Skovira, MD, to St. Joseph’s award-winning cardiovascular team. St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute services consistently deliver superior outcomes and surpass national quality benchmarks.
Dr. Skovira is a welcome addition to the team of nationally recognized cardiologists, surgeons, and staff. He is a board-certified cardiologist who recently completed his subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, MI. Prior to that, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Fellowship at United Health Services Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. In his role, he will use his specialized skills to diagnose and treat heart attacks, coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, venous thromboembolic disease, and pulmonary emboli.
“I am excited to be a part of the cardiovascular team at St. Joseph’s Health,” said Dr. Skovira. “It has been my goal to become an interventional cardiologist and contribute to a tradition of cardiac excellence.”
Dr. Skovira is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine. He grew up in Owego, NY, earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Syracuse University and his medical degree at American University of Antigua College of Medicine.
