SYRACUSE – Marya Gendzielewski, M.D. has joined St. Joseph’s Physicians as an endocrinologist. Dr. Gendzielewski earned her Doctor of Medicine in 1981 from SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York where she also completed residencies in both internal medicine, and endocrinology and metabolism. Prior to her new role with St. Joseph’s Physicians, Dr. Gendzielewski maintained a solo private practice in endocrinology and metabolism for 25 years and affiliated with St. Joseph’s Health.

“Formally joining St. Joseph’s Physicians and becoming part of St. Joseph’s integrated network allows me to continue to deliver high level endocrine care to my current patients and maximize opportunities to provide them with excellent care through the advantages of the St. Joseph’s Health system,” said Dr. Gendzielewski.

Dr. Gendzielewski’s St. Joseph’s career has included roles as senior attending physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital, director of inpatient diabetic management, and the primary inpatient endocrinology consult provider. In addition she has been an active member of the Medical Executive Committee at St. Joseph’s since 1998 including a two-year term as president from 2010-2012, and has been consistently volunteered her time on multiple committees for the organization.

“As integrated networks drive the future of medicine, there was no question, I wanted to stay with the St. Joseph’s system. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” said Dr. Gendzielewski.

She is a 2013 recipient of the Onondaga County Medical Society Outstanding Clinician award and belongs to the following professional organizations: American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) – Fellow, The Endocrine Society, American College of Physicians, American Diabetes Association, New York State Medical Society, and Onondaga County Medical Association. She is a certified Diplomate of both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Gendzielewski’s office is located in the Medical Office Center at 104 Union Ave., Syracuse, New York, where she will continue to serve current patients and accept provider referrals.
