Hajrija SelimovicSYRACUSE, N.Y.— (June 5, 2024) St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to welcome Hajrija Selimovic, PA-C, to St. Joseph's Physicians Primary Care in Fayetteville where she will work as a physician assistant.

 

Selimovic is no stranger to St. Joseph’s. She previously worked as a rehabilitation aide in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation unit and assisted with patient care across multiple other departments including orthopedics, oncology, medical-surgical, psychiatry, the emergency room, the progressive care unit and the intensive care unit. She was also a medical scribe and scribe trainer at Crouse Hospital Emergency Department.

 

“I enjoyed the challenges and learning opportunities working previously at St. Joseph’s and the staff was so welcoming and caring,” said Selimovic. “I cannot say enough about the skills and compassion of the team here and I’m excited to join them in caring for patients as a physician assistant in the primary care setting. I’m thrilled to be able to continue this career I love in my hometown of Syracuse.”

Selimovic attended Le Moyne College in Syracuse where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in chemistry and psychology and was awarded a leader scholarship. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. While there, she volunteered for the Remote Access Medicine Clinic and was a member of Students Without Borders and participated in a medical mission trip in the Dominican Republic. She also served as president of the Physician Assistant Student Society.
