Dr, Chou is an excellent Dr. In all ways. He listened to me as well as have me good advice and patient care.He is a Dr that deserves a number 100 percent!
Prompt and courteous
I was asked in this survey if my provider washed his hands prior to seeing me. I indicated"never" because I did not actually see him wash his hands whether he did prior to entering the room. I would however, like to see him do this in front of my just to be 100% certain it was done. Or wear gloves.

every thing went great
I didnt like the way he addressed my symptoms.. gave me medicine for a symptom that i dont even have. I know my body i know is wrong when i get these symptoms. He gave me no antibiotics or nothing and never checked my lungs. Just basically told me there was nothing wrong when i know there is. You dont have a sinus headache for 4 days and not have a sinus infection. I have one and he gave me nothing to treat it with so now i have to go to well now and get looked at again.
I recently established with Dr. Chou due to two of my previous providers leaving the practice. I’ve also been treated by Dr. Chou in the SJ Urgent Care prior to it’s closing and have always had positive expletives with this provider.
Looking forward to seeing him again to see how I’m doing

I feel like i was treated like a drug addict because i have insomnia. I was told i was supposed to have an appt to in order for Dr Chou to write a prescription for sleep. I was see in Aug or Sept and had a follow up telemed with dr merola. In oct. She never told me that I needed a follow up or i would have made it. And why didn't she make it she knows how hard it is too get an appt with this practice. I requested a refill on the ZOLPIDEM 4 times, stopped in the office once. Called the call center twice. Finally I got a message through the portal stating the dr would not prescribe without coming in and i had to sign control paper, and drug test. I spoke to Brian in call center and the first available wad was Jan 5th. So that would mean i would suffer with sleep for 2months. I asked if i could get a prescription them and was there no. I have been taking ZOLPIDEM for over 20 yrs. I wasn't having side effects. Now i was put on Belsomra which costs me a $100. Per month. I am retired and can't afford this. And to top it off the Belsomra is not working and i am having side effects from it. . Which Dr Chou said if your drug test comes back negative i will send the Belsomra in and hopefully your insurance will cover it.!. I have had 8 primary drs that have left. 10 if you include dr Kristen Merola and Dr Chou. I also wonder why i would be.assigned to dr merola at 7 months pregnant when she would be leaving on maternity. Ive had other specialists appts and they ask who is your primary. I don't know what to tell them. I thought the reasons you have a primary dr is they get to know you and your body. So i have to say i am not happy lately with this practice and my last 2 providers. It is also extremely disappointing and difficult to get an appointment. Think is why i would not recommend this practice. Oh i forgot to mention that my husband's provider has also left.
Dr Chou under stands me very well and that is a plus.

Could have had extra minute or two to reflect on my health issues to ask about other problems brought on by my current health situation, Believe we covered everything had a question or two after the Doctor left but that is common to happen almost every time I have a office visit.

Dr Chou is the best doctor that I have ever had. He now sees both my daughter and my wife.
He makes sure I understand what he is saying about my health and often draws very helpful pictures to communicate my condition and the suggested care plan.
I also had my children in the room with me. He spoke with them and tried to build a new foundation as my new primary.

Dr. Chou was kind and encouraging during a pretty painful procedure. He also talked his students through it while still reassuring me. He could have been rude ir rough or uncaring, and id still give him a hugh rating because he seemed to .know what he was doing, and ge dud ut extremely well. The kindness and reassurance were icing on the cake.

The doctor was wonderful. The phone service is atrocious.
He calmly and clearly explained that I may have a diagnosis that I wasn’t expecting to have, he referred me to a specialist and sent in a prescription that was best suited for what I needed at the time. I appreciated his help and knowledge.
