Syracuse, NY (April 10, 2020) – St. Joseph’s Health recognizes the tremendous impact COVID-19 has had on our colleagues and the community. Continuing its focus on “Unity For Our Community”, the St. Joseph’s Health Foundation established two new funds - COVID 19 Medical Response Fund and COVID 19 Community Support Fund – along with the existing Colleague Emergency Assistance Fund. In only one week’s time, the Foundation has raised $50,000.

“On behalf of St. Joseph’s Health, we are so grateful for the outpouring support of our generous donors,” said Vincent Kuss, Vice President of Development. “Our patients and colleagues are very fortunate to have such a generous donor base during this time of need.”

Donors can choose among the three separate funds. The COVID-19 Medical Response Fund helps support the immense equipment need at the hospital. The Colleague Emergency Assistance Fund raises money for our frontline staff who are treating patients each day. Some of the staff members may be experiencing financial hardships in their households. The Mission Services Fund is for donors who wish to contribute to the needs of the greater Central New York community. The money in this fund will go to the COVID-19 Community Support Fund to support local non-profits.
