Dr. Bushra Karim JavaidSYRACUSE, N.Y.— (May 15, 2024) St. Joseph’s Health is pleased to welcome Bushra Karim Javaid, MD, to St. Joseph’s Physicians Primary Care Center - West in Syracuse. Board-certified in pediatrics, Dr. Javaid comes to St. Joseph’s Health from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, where she practiced pediatrics for several years. Prior to that, she was a pediatrician at Marshfield Clinic at Eau Claire Center in Wisconsin.

 

“One of the most rewarding aspects of being a pediatrician is not only helping children with their health care needs but seeing them grow. Being a part of the nurturing of our future generations is an amazing honor and great part of why I do what I do,” said Dr. Javaid. “I really think the West Side Clinic is a wonderful place to work. I feel loved and respected and am honored to be one of the members of the team there. I’m so happy to be a part of this beautiful community.”  

 

Dr. Javaid received her medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. She received post-graduate OB/GYN training at Lady Willington Hospital, also in Lehore. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Bridgeport Hospital, an affiliate of Yale University, before returning to Pakistan where she spent many years as medical officer, registrar, and assistant and associate professor of pediatrics at various hospitals.

 

Dr. Javaid is married to a fellow physician, and they have four adult children. She enjoys visiting her children and cooking their favorite meals. She also loves to stitch and read in her spare time.
