Dr. Kara Kort is a Board-Certified General Surgeon who has been in practice in Central New York for nearly 25 years. Originally from Long Island, she completed her training in Syracuse and stayed in the region to practice medicine. While originally practicing General and Trauma Surgery for 15 years, her focus and passion has always been endocrine (thyroid and parathyroid) and breast surgery.

Since joining St. Joseph's in 2014, Dr. Kort practices exclusively breast and endocrine surgery. She has always believed that knowledge is power, and patients really appreciate having their disease or problem explained to them in language they can understand. Dr. Kort is straightforward and honest with her patients, yet kind, compassionate and positive.

Dr. Kort and her husband live in Fayetteville, NY where they raised their four children.

This was a referral and I feel like the doctor who referred me Dr. Aliwalis may not have sent me to the right option to get my answers questioned and feel like what I was seeking just questions and what she wrote on the referral was misleading therefore when the doctor came in I felt a bit attacked for what I was looking for was not what my doctor wrote on referral obviously but the Doctor did listen in the long run and answered all my questions and concerns just felt a bit attacked in the beginning of my appointment.
